Dynamax Regirock shares a fair bit in common with its fellow trio-member, Dynamax Regice. They have identical stats and access to Lock-On for tanking, but the difference here is that Regirock, despite having a notoriously bad typing as well, also has a few resistances that it can actually leverage in select raids. This makes it a bit of a better investment than Regice, though not by a tremendous amount.

Attacker1/5

Low Attack and reliance on Lock-On which results in the Normal Type Max Strike means that Dynamax Regirock really doesn't perform well offensively.

Defender4/5

A 0.5 second Fast move and VERY high Defense means that Dynamax Regirock can defend really well, and Max Guard's flat HP buffer gets used very well here. While Regirock DOES have a few key resistances that make it even better as a tank, it doesn't NEED to play into its strengths in order to excel, though it DOES need to watch out for coverage moves, as Rock has a lot of weaknesses that can be exploited.

Healer1/5

That HP doesn't do Regirock many favors.

Go for max Guard first and foremost. The HP buffer and team protection is extremely important for Dynamax Regirock. After that you can invest in Max Spirit for those moments when Regirock already has 3 shields and wants even more defensive capabilities.

  • Lock-On is definitely the way to go, as it generates energy very quickly and allows Dynamax Regirock to do its only real job; tanking.
  • Rock Throw can work for Max Rockfall, and Rock Smash can work for Max Knuckle, but Regirock isn't the best as an attacker.
