Analysis
Hisuian Samurott actually has a higher Attack stat than normal Samurott, and it also has access to Water Fall. These facts mean that it has potential, but just how much? Well, to begin with, it's a Water Type starter, so we can expect it to see Hydro Cannon at some point in the future. But even more than that, in the main series it has a Dark Type Signature Move that goes by the name of Ceaseless Edge, so it could become something genuinely good in the future!
Offense
- Waterfall and Razor Shell is the way to go for a Water Type moveset
- Snarl and Dark Pulse is the pick for a Dark Type moveset
- Fury Cutter and X-Scissor can work if in a pinch, but it's pretty underwhelming.
- Icy Wind isn't worth considering.
Defense
- Waterfall is the best overall option for a defensive Fast Move due to its higher power, though Snarl is also good. Both have great neutral coverage, so the best option depends on the Charged Move of choice.
- Razor Shell is a contender for Charged Move option thanks to STAB, and it also comes out frequently and is very hard to dodge. It's probably best to pair it with Snarl to make it harder to wall out.
- Icy Wind has coverage against a number of threatening Pokemon and is definitely worth considering.
- X-Scissor is great as well, though it's more frequently resisted.
- Dark Pulse has high power and neutral coverage, but it doesn't come out as frequently.
PvP
Fury Cutter provides high energy generation, allowing Hisuian Samurott to spam Icy Wind for debuffs or Dark Pulse for raw damage.
Hisuian Samurott is spammy and can throw out some nice debuffs with Icy Wind, but it's honestly not extremely effective in reality.
