Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first weave, when first we practice to.... be meta.
Yeah, this is just another random bug out here doing not much of anything. It's wholly unimpressive in the PvE meta, and definitely not worth any sort of investment.

  • Bug Bite out-paces Counter and Shadow Claw, and should be paired with X-Scissor.
  • Lunge, Grass Knot, Rock Tomb.... all bad options for Spidops.

  • On defense, Spidops is best using Counter due to its high power and solid coverage. Shadow Claw and Bug Bite are a bit sub-par in terms of raw power.
  • Lunge comes out the most frequently and had great power thanks to STAB, Rock Tomb has counter-coverage against Fire and Flying Types, and Grass Knot... is good too.
  • X-Scissor is weaker than Lunge on defense.

Shadow Claw is an important move of choice despite the raw power of Bug Bite and Counter due to its higher energy generation. This is because of Spidops' entire job in PvP: use Lunge and Rock Tomb to debuff the opposition's Attack and deal decent damage at that. Grass Knot is an okay pick as well for its high power and coverage.

Spidops' ability to quickly build energy and reliably spread debuffs makes it potentially attractive for some teams. It can come in and throw out debuffs at a rapid pace, potentially either shutting down the opposition or paving the way for a more threatening Pokemon to come in and sweep with reduced opposition.
