Lurantis isn't concerned so much about fighting as much as it's concerned about being glamorous. Since it knows it can't compete against all the strong Grass-types introduced to the game over the years, it might as well be one of the most majestic looking Pokemon, right?

  • Razor Leaf is the optimal Fast Move due to its strong STAB damage.
  • Fury Cutter is better suited for Bug Pokemon.
  • Leaf Blade is solid for PvE offense, and is very efficient and consistent.
  • Leaf Storm is less consistent as a 1-bar move and has lower DPS.
  • Trailblaze can't really compare to Leaf Blade, either.
  • X-Scissor should benefit Bug-types more.
  • Superpower has no use.

  • Razor Leaf has good STAB damage on defense.
  • Fury Cutter is pitiful for defensive damage.
  • Despite lacking coverage, Leaf Blade is still the best choice for defense.
  • Trailblaze is basically Leaf Blade but worse on defense.
  • Superpower is somewhat slow and can be easily dodged.
  • X-Scissor is an alternative choice, but lacks damage.
  • Leaf Storm hits hard, but Lurantis might faint before it can use it.

Leafage benefits from STAB to deal significant damage, but its energy generation is only slightly above average. Fury Cutter gives up meaningful damage output in exchange for very fast energy gains, letting Lurantis use its Charge Moves more often. Razor Leaf deals very high damage but has extremely poor energy generation.

Leaf Blade is one of the best and most efficient Charge Moves in the game, benefits from STAB, and can be used frequently with its low energy cost. Leaf Storm is a less consistent option due to its much higher energy demands. Superpower provides wide Fighting-type damage, though the lack of STAB and a difficult self-debuff makes it difficult to use. Alternatively X-Scissor could be chosen for very niche and specific circumstances, but is generally not recommended. Trailblaze is a solid move, but if it replaces Close Combat then Lurantis can't handle anything that resists Grass, and if it replaces Leaf Blade then Lurantis loses its most spamable move.

Lurantis is a pure Grass-type Pokemon with access to the highly valued Leaf Blade. While its bulk isn't particularly notable, fast access to valuable coverage is extremely desired in the meta. Fury Cutter or Leafage are generally recommended for more consistent access to Superpower, which is much needed against popular Steel-types. Unfortunately Lurantis is very easily walled off by almost anything that flies in the air, and it's very unfavorable against most Poison-types as well.
