Analysis
With a mere 163 Attack, not even a Shadow boost can pull Corviknight out of PvE obscurity.
Offense
- Air Slash and Sky Attack is the way to go for Flying damage.
- Steel Wing and Iron Head* is your go-to option for Steel damage.
- Sand Attack, Air Cutter*, and Payback don't really help Shadow Corviknight out.
Defense
- Steel Wing and Sky Attack both have the best defensive pressure among Shadow Corviknight's moves, making this the way to go.
- Air Slash + Iron Head is basically the same thing, but with reversed coverage and less power.
- Air Cutter* is Sky Attack, but objectively worse on defense.
- Sand Attack and Payback both fall behind.
Sand Attack is a natural pick for Corviknight, allowing it to get to its Charged Moves faster, especially Air Cutter with its very low energy cost and chance for an Attack buff that can cause Shadow Corviknight to snowball VERY quickly while also baiting out shields. Finally, Payback has decent power and coverage, and can be used to close out a fight when shields are down or with some mindgames alongside Air Cutter.
Shadow Corviknight has several real advantages in the Great League; not only is it a capable Pokemon in most matchups, it can also directly counter a number of important Pokemon in the meta, making it very much worth considering for many teams. It does lose a few matchups when compared to the non-Shadow variant, but it still has its niche.
