Analysis
Sinistcha is actually a bit of an interesting Pokemon. Its Attack stat is low but usable, and it has at least decent movesets for both of its types. These facts make it not the worst pick for an early game attacker... though it's REALLY not going to hold its value long for most players. It COULD be better someday thanks to its Grass Type signature move, Matcha Gotcha, but that's an uphill battle to say the least.
Offense
- Astonish and Shadow Ball is Sinistcha's strongest mono-type option, even though Astonish is not a good move.
- Magical Leaf and Energy Ball is also good, even though Energy Ball is not a good move.
- Magical Leaf and Shadow Ball is Sinistcha's strongest single moveset, though Ghost and Grass aren't extremely common weaknesses to encounter on a single Pokemon.
- Poltergeist is not good.
Defense
- Magical Leaf is leagues above Astonish on defense.
- Shadow Ball is pretty easy to dodge, but it's still the optimal pick as pairing Magical Leaf with Energy Ball leaves Sinistcha very easily walled by anything that resists Grass.
- Poltergeist.... why did Niantic even make this move?
Astonish is stronger than Magical Leaf, and it has stronger neutral coverage as well. Meanwhile, Shadow Ball has a reasonable energy cost and high damage, while Energy Ball is also reasonable with a small chance to debuff enemy Defense.
Sinistcha doesn't make waves in the Ultra League, leave it to brew in peace.
