Nihilego Raid Guide
Nihilego is a bit... mediocre. It's one of the best Poison Type attackers in the game, but Poison isn't exactly a good type to invest in. And sure, it could get better in the future, but the odds are definitely against it right now on that front. It's also not outstanding in any PvP mode right now, making its value even lower.
That said, this is also not a particularly hard raid. Turns out that a double-weakness to Ground goes a long way when Primal Groudon exists, so getting this Ultra Beast is definitely doable. Not only is it a very manageable duo, it's potentially possible to solo if you're extremely well-optimized.
Supreme Counters
The Supreme counters are all extremely powerful and very viable for the duo, with a few of the absolute top options capable of potentially running a solo with boosts like Clear Weather and/or Behemoth Blade.
Primal Groudon has tremendous DPS and TDO alike. It's an outstandingly powerful Pokemon, and by far the best option for this raid.
While not quite on a par with Primal Groudon, Shadow Groudon is a massively powerful Pokemon that outright dismantles Nihilego. This is also the top overall option among the non-Mega Pokemon.
This may seem like an odd choice as Zamazenta doesn't shake the ground, but this doggo still is easily within duo-worthy damage, and its TDO is absolutely through the roof. This thing is easy mode on the duo to say the least.

While not on a par with Primal Groudon, Mega Garchomp has a massive amount of power and is a great secondary option.
Shadow Excadrill has a stellar triple-resistance to Poison and a lot of raw power, making it another amazing choice.
Another powerhouse Ground Type attacker, Shadow Garchomp is genuinely powerful here as well.
Another outstanding mix of DPS and TDO, Shadow Rhyperior is here to smash a jellyfish!
While a bit below the competition, Shadow Mamoswine is still a genuinely great Ground Type attacker despite being more well known for its Ice performance.
Good Counters
All of our Good counters are actually very much duo-worthy, so feel free to pepper a few in while keeping a healthy bit ahead of the clock!
