Analysis
Say hello to Volcanion, one of the least celebrated Mythical Pokemon. Sure, it got its own movie, but most mythical Pokemon from its area have their own movies too.
Despite its unique and very nice Fire/Water typing, Volcanion is a bit mediocre. It has an Attack stat that's a bit underwhelming nowadays, and its movesets for both of its types are 'good' (with Fire standing out as much better than Water), but that just doesn't cut it nowadays without a strong Attack stat. Honestly, Volcanion's only real hope for the future is Steam Eruption, its Water Type signature move from the main series. If it gets that, then it instantly grabs a niche as a potentially strong Water Type attacker with a double-resistance to Fire Type attacks. It's not alone in this niche, but it's still something.
Offense
- Incinerate and Overheat are good Fire Type moves that make Volcanion a good Fire Type attacker.
- Water Gun and Hydro Pump isn't bad, but it's pretty far down on the Water Type attacker list.
- Take Down, Earth Power, and Sludge Bomb should be TM'd away.
