Shadow Escavalier basically lives in the shadow of Shadow Scizor, which sports the same typing and higher damage output alongside the ability to switch to a Steel Type moveset. The only real advantage that Shadow Escavalier has over Shadow Scizor is a higher TDO, but the advantage isn't large enough to make up for the difference. It's objectively pretty good, but definitely not great.

  • Counter out-paces Bug Bite on defense.
  • Razor Shell* is probably the best option here due to its low energy cost and counter-coverage against Shadow Escavalier's lone weakness in Fire.
  • Aerial Ace is good as well if you don't want to drop an Elite TM, but it's generally less impactful.
  • Drill Run is fine as well, and also hits Fire Types hard, but it's slower than Razor Shell.
  • Megahorn is WAY too slow, and Acid Spray is WAY too weak.
