Articuno Raid Guide
Ah, Articuno. The avatar bird of Team Mystic, and... that's about it. Honestly, there's almost no reason to raid for Articuno, as its utility all around is pretty lackluster. Still, this is a favorite Pokemon for many players, and a dex filler at the very least.
Supreme Counters
All of the Supreme Counters are able to run a duo with plenty of leeway, but can't quite manage a solo under normal circumstances. For this reason, we're putting a bit more emphasis on TDO for this raid.
Mega Tyranitar boasts a tremendous TDO alongside its high DPS, making it an outstanding option for taking down the bluebird of unhappiness.
Mega Diancie doesn't quite have the general TDO of Mega Tyranitar, but its DPS is higher. However, since both can easily break duo-worthy DPS and don't reach solo-worthy numbers outside of maybe a combo of different boosts, it's probably better to rock Mega Tyranitar. But that's not always the case, as Diancie can be the better option if you're running a duo with someone who can't quite put in the numbers or you want to get the highest average damage for the raid.
Despite having a DPS total that's relatively low for this raid by a tiny bit and not throwing out Rock Type moves, Zamazenta is still comfortably above duo-worthy damage output and a tremendous TDO, making it arguably one of the absolute best options for this raid.
Shadow Ramparados is the heaviest hitter in this raid, allowing weaker teams to get ahead of the clock if need-be, or for just getting this raid over with as quickly as possible.
Like Zamazenta, Zacian can get around the lack of Rock Type attacks with its tremendous raw power and outstanding TDO. Like with Mega Tyranitar vs. Mega Diancie, Zacian is the DPS option between it and Zamazenta, but its TDO is still very much worthwhile!!!
Shadow Rhyperior may be weak to Ice, but its high raw power makes it a strong contender for this raid regardless.
Dusk Mane Necrozma generally falls right in between Zamazenta and Zacian, making it a strong universal pick here.
Meteor Beam pulls a lot of weight here, and makes Shadow Gigalith a strong universal pick here.
Shadow Aggron enjoys a high TDO due to its Steel sub-typing, and has surprisingly high damage due to Meteor Beam.
Another great universal pick, Tyranitar was one of the best counters to Articuno back in the old days of Pokemon Go. Nowadays, Shadow Tyranitar has fantastic universal performance that is definitely worthwhile.
Good Counters
Just about everything on this section of the list should work in a duo, but they are generally weaker options.
