Shadow Omastar isn't the best Pokemon, but it actually does have some utility. With its Water/Rock Typing, it double-resists Fire Type attacks, and it can hit at least decently hard to make it worthwhile. However, its Rock Type moveset requires an Elite TM to pick up, so you're basically locked into using either a Rock or Water Type moveset unless you want to spend a lot of rare resources.

  • Shadow Omastar can use Rock Throw* and Rock Slide* for maximum Rock damage, but both moves are elite.
  • Of Shadow Omastar’s current fast moves, Water Gun is superior to Mud Shot in every way.
  • Rock Blast is Shadow Omastar’s next best Rock-type charge move option, pulling ahead of Ancient Power.
  • Hydro Pump does well vs. Fire-types, but Rock moves are better if double weaknesses are in play.

  • Just as it is for attacking, Rock Throw* is Shadow Omastar’s best fast move and, unfortunately, a legacy move.
  • Water Gun and Mud Shot are both pretty awful on defense.
  • Rock Blast and Rock Slide* benefit from multiple bars and fairly early damage windows.
  • Ancient Power is strong for a 3-bar move, but its late damage window is easy to dodge.
  • Hydro Pump is hard to react to, but Shadow Omastar will be wrecked by Grass attackers before it is used.

Mud Shot is Shadow Omastar's best Fast Move option thanks to its high Energy Generation. Meanwhile, Rock Slide has decent overall stats, while Hydro Pump has higher energy generation, but the potential to hit pretty hard.

The Great Helix... doesn't do much in PvP, leaving it a bit of a liability in the Great League.
