Tapu Bulu Raid Guide
HERE IT IS, MY FRIENDS! BASICALLY THE ONLY MEANINGFUL RAID THAT CALLS FOR POISON TYPES!
Typing completionists rejoice! We FINALLY have the return of a Grass/Fairy Type, the ONLY type combo in the game that can be double-weak to Poison! But, sadly, it's not exactly the most useful Pokemon to raid for... and the top Flying, Steel, and Fire Types can hit the same basic benchmarks.
Supreme Counters
The top counters here are all duo-worthy with ease.
As should be no surprise, Eternatus is here with a TREMENDOUS mix of DPS and TDO, allowing it to flat-line Tapu Bulu pretty hard.
The overall top Mega Evolution for this raid, we have Mega Beedrill... yeah, that is a weird sentence to write. Its resistances give it a surprisingly good TDO despite its low bulk, and its DPS beats out everything else in the game here. In theory it should be possible for Mega Beedrill to solo Tapu Bulu with Cloudy weather, and even more-so with Behemoth Blade active, though it's still going to be a tight run that requires very fast backing out, healing, and re-entering.
Yeah, don't go raising a Mega Beedrill for this raid unless you really just want an excuse to do so. Mega Rayquaza has performance that's effectively identical for the most part.
Nihilego has a lessened resistances to Tapu Bulu's Grass Type attacks, but it still has a great average performance here.
Tapu Bulu is partly Fairy Type, meaning it's weak to Steel. So of course Zacian is here! Despite the double-weakness to Poison, Zacian's immense strength puts it in league with even the top options, proving that Poison is really not a good investment, even when it should be given its lone chance to shine.
This toxic hornet-dragon is the final form of one of the starters in an alternate dimension (this is not a joke), and it has a great overall performance here.
If Zacian is here, then it stands to reason that Zamazenta won't be far behind. Its Fighting sub-typing makes it a bit less reliable here, meaning it's generally behind Zacian in terms of DPS and TDO alike on average, but it's still outstanding.
Where the metal dogs go, the metal cat will follow.
Mega Gengar is yet another Mega Evolution that can trash Tapu Bulu... one of a lot, honestly. We left a few like Mega Victreebel off of this list that SHOULD rightfully be here, but we decided to cut most of them out. Still, Mega Gengar skirts in as another good option.
Grass and Poison is an outstanding typing into Tapu Bulu, and Roselia is one of the best of the type.
