Froslass is a glass-cannon of a Pokemon, but sadly she's more glass than cannon. It's definitely usable, but horribly outclassed by the big-names represented in both of its types.

  • Froslass can work as an Ice attacker with Powder Snow and Avalanche, or as a Ghost attacker with Hex and Shadow Ball
  • Triple Axel is a great Ice Type move, but it's a bit behind Avalanche.
  • Crunch is the odd-move-out.

  • Hex is superior to Powder Snow, though the latter is still okay.
  • Crunch and Triple Axel hit frequently, making them optimal move choices, though Shadow Ball and Avalanche are also good moves on defense as well.

Powder Snow possesses the same energy generation as Hex, but it has superior damage and is snappier due to being a 2-turn move instead of a 3-turn move.

Avalanche is the main highlight of Froslass as it's one of the most powerful moves in PvP, and Froslass abuses this advantage thanks to high energy gains from its fast move. Shadow Ball generally sees more use than Crunch due to its significantly higher power with STAB, but Crunch costs less energy to use. There's not really much point in using Crunch for shield-bating since Avalanche can do that too for the same energy cost, so go with Shadow BallTriple Axel can be used, but Avalanche is far too strong to give up

Froslass is the queen of Great League cups, with a reputation of pressuring with fast and powerful Avalanches and having largely unresisted coverage with Shadow Ball. Historically, Froslass is known for running away with games when it finds energy and/or shield advantage. As an Ice-type with resistance to Counter, Froslass can act as a corebreaker to teams that rely on Dragon-, Flying-, and Fighting-types. In the open Great League, Froslass is one of those Pokemon that often trends in and out, though it never completely vanishes. Its unique traits often call it into action when certain metagame trends are just right for it.
