Say hello to what's unequivocally one of the Grass attackers to exist. Kartana towers over most other Grass-type Pokemon - even Shadow ones, and effectively makes all of them suboptimal choices. With a raw DPS comparable to that of Mewtwo, Kartana can even function as a generalist in sunny weather. Outside of Mega Sceptile, nothing short of Shadow Rillaboom with Frenzy Plant can touch this monster's DPS. And Arceus knows how terrifying Kartana can be if it ever gets its hands on its Shadow form...

  • Razor Leaf + Leaf Blade combine to turn Kartana into a top tier Grass attacker.
  • Fury Cutter is stronger than Razor Leaf when both are Super Effective, but the difference is extremely minor.
  • Sacred Sword is great, but it falls behind Leaf Blade just slightly, even when both are Super Effective.
  • Air Slash and Aerial Ace can work for Flying Type damage output in a pinch, but it's not good in this role.
  • X-Scissor and Night Slash don't have much uses on Kartana despite its immense Attack stat.

Fury Cutter comes in strong, with very high energy generation and good damage output. Razor Leaf has lower overall performance, in particular due to its low energy gains, but it can work for swift fast move damage coming off of Kartana's huge Attack stat. Leaf Blade and Sacred Sword are both low-energy, high-damage Charged Moves designed to cut down the opposition quickly.

Kartana is designed after an origami folded figure, meaning it's supposed to be made from paper. Well, despite the fact that it can provide some SERIOUSLY deep paper cuts, Kartana really doesn't do anything that can't be done better by other Pokemon.
