ce and Rock are outstanding offensive types, hitting a huge number of Pokemon for Super Effective damage, so together they should be the perfect offensive storm, right?

No. Just... no.

So where exactly do we start? Hisuian Avalugg lacks a Rock Type Fast Move to leverage both types, its Ice Type Charged move option is underwhelming, its Attack stat is middling at best, and it sports one of the worst possible defensive typings in the game, with weaknesses to 6 different very common coverage types, and devastating double-weaknesses to Fighting and Steel.

Leave poor Hisuian Avalugg at home. It's not bothering anyone!

  • Powder Snow and Blizzard is definitely the way to go.
  • Rock Slide could be decent if Hisuian Avalugg had a Rock Type Fast Move
  • Bite and Crunch can work, but it's very underwhelming.
  • Icy Wind is a sub-par Ice Type move on offense.
  • Tackle is worthless.

  • Powder Snow hits the hardest due to STAB and is generally the best option, though Bite is okay as well.
  • Rock Slide gets STAB and hits a lot of Pokemon for Super Effective damage, while Crunch comes out fast and has outstanding neutral coverage.
  • Icy Wind is good on defense, but it leaves Hisuian Avalugg vulnerable as its best Fast Move is also Ice Type.
  • Tackle and Blizzard are underwhelming.

Powder Snow offers great energy generation and a decent damage output. Bite and Tackle are both bad.

Rock Slide and Icy Wind are both Hisuian Avalugg's cheapest attacks and benefit from STAB; the former has respectable DPE and the latter provides a guaranteed Attack debuff. Crunch can be ran to provide an alternative coverage. Blizzard is too expensive.

Hisuian Avalugg is currently only obtainable through raids, and unfortunately a 0/0/0 Level 20 Hisuian Avalugg still remains above 1500 CP.
