Analysis
Gogoat is.... well, let's be honest; it's yet another vanilla Grass Type with no redeeming qualities. Gamefreak seemed really excited for Gogoat back when Generation 6 dropped, but quickly forgot about it and moved on. And, honestly, it's best to just forget about it here as well.
Offense
- Vine Whip and Leaf Blade work together to make Gogoat's best offensive set. Leaf Bomb is basically Leaf Blade, but worse.
- Rock Smash and Brick Break... isn't good enough to be note-worthy.
- Just skip Rock Slide and Seed Bomb.
Defense
- Rock Smash is the top Fast Move for defense due to its higher base power.
- Zen Headbutt is okay too.
- Vine Whip has the lowest power and shares a type with Gogoat's best Charged Move option, which leaves Gogoat very vulnerable on defense.
- Leaf Blade stands as the best Charged Move option for defense, though Rock Slide is note-worthy for its ability to hit Flying Types pretty hard.
- Brick Break is too weak to be worthwhile, and Seed Bomb is a weaker Leaf Blade on defense.
PvP
Vine Whip allows for fast energy generation, while Leaf Blade and Brick Break are both spammy moves that come out super fast. This makes Gogoat great at wearing down opposing Pokemon and potentially forcing out shields despite the relatively low damage of both Charged Moves.
Gogoat, GO! GO GO! GO.... AS FAR FROM PVP AS POSSIBLE!
