Among the Dynamax Dragons currently available, Dynamax Latios is one of the better ones. It has a high Attack stat, okay bulk if its defenders are lost, and the ability to drop Max Wyrmwind and Max Mindstorm alike, giving it additional role compression in a single investment. Dynamax Latios can definitely put in some great work, and it's worthy of a slot on your team. On top of that, it can also pull double-duty as a Mega Latios in normal raids if you get a good one!

Attacker4/5

Good damage output and two STAB Max Moves make Dynamax Latios pretty great, though keep in mind it only hits a total of 3 types in the game for Super Effective damage between Max Wyrmwind and Max Mindstorm, so its role compression is actually a bit dubious. STILL, that's more coverage than something that sticks with just one or the other!

Defender2/5

Dynamax Latios has a solid defensive typing and okay bulk, so it can survive a bit if your defender bites it. Just don't take it as your main tank unless it's a low-level Max Battle or you can leverage its resistances extremely well. Even then, don't try to tank high-rank and Gigantamax battles with this thing.

Healer1/5

You're honestly better of using another Max Wyrmwind or Max Mindstorm instead 90% of the time.

Max out your favorite flavor of Max Move, then maybe put a bit in Max Guard for solos, just don't plan on trying to defend for long in higher ranked battles as Max Guard redirects attacks to Latios, and it doesn't like taking too many hits.

Situational
  • Dragon Breath is one of the best Dragon Type Fast Moves for Max Wyrmwind. It's also the best option for defensive play.
  • Zen Headbutt gives Latios Max Mindstorm, but Latios will need to rely more on its dedicated tank partner because it's a fairly slow move.
