This team is made for Double Battles format.

Normally sandstorm's only effects is chip damage to all the Pokemon that are not Rock, Ground or Steel type and 50% special defence boost to Rock types. But, there are certain Pokemon that take advantage from the sandstorm besides it's usual effects.

Sandstorm teams has changed over the years. In gen 4 was famous Tyranitar and Sand Veil Garchomp duo, but in gen 5 Sand Veil Garchomp was banned and Sand Rush Excadrill joined instead. Gen 9 introduced Sand Rush Houndstone as well as one of the best supporting Pokemon, Maushold.

Mega Aerodactyl is a great addition to the sandstorm teams thanks to Wide Guard, Tailwind and special defence boost from being a Rock Type.

Finally. After all those years. Sand Veil Garchomp is back. Stomping Tantrum is preferred over Earthquake in Double Battles to prevent ally damage.

The core of the team, Sand Stream Tyranitar. Ice Punch is a special threat for opposing Garchomp, though it can be replaced with Protect.

Excadrill's Sand Rush doubles it's speed, making it capable of outspeeding almost any Pokemon without Tailwind.

Houndstone not only has Sand Rush but also Last Respects which can OHKO almost any Pokemon with 2 or 3 allies fainted, further boosted by Life Orb. Can also use Ally Switch to trick the opponent.

Maushold has no attacking moves but instead serves as a great ally for all the Pokemon on this team using Helping Hand and Follow Me.
